Alright Diary,

Time to start smashing it, Time to pull my finger out, Time to make some fucking art.

The question is for me and a lot of modern Artists is time mangagment.

Is the modern artist supposed to be fulent in self promotion, hashtags, music management, marketing and be a content creator?

Or, are we the starving artists bound to dwell on creating our greatest work only to be seen by very few whilst shouting: "fuck the algorithims - I'm busy making something original"?

Maybe it's both, but let's be honest, there are very few that can manage both on a level that works.

However....

The world needs art.

In all it's forms.

Art provides the spark the keeps our hearts a light,

Art is a human right,

Imagine a world without art,

A single painting that sent you back in time and understand the world that once was,

The theatre piece that opened your mind and allowed you to feel like yourself,

The song you fell in love with and now resonates with every play.

Let's not take art too lightly, let's not dimish it for a click or a hashtag for 15 minutes of fame.

With grass roots music venues shutting down rapidly, album sales shooting down the shitter and everyone battling for a glimspe of exposer, I don't blame you. In fact, I'd be lying if said I haven't dabbled with that route, searching on marketing techniques, how to advertise myself and how to be seen, oh pick me please I'm decent artist I swear.

Maybe the key is in community, collaboration and a safe performace space to hone our skills but authincely and promoting the artist we cheerish.

I have personally been trying to think of ways for myself and for fellow artists, understanding the importance of business in art but also not letting it destroy the creativity, individuality and originality of it all.

Anyway, if there is a viable solution you can think of feel free to post in the comments, if not buy my albums, I'm broke.
